What stays on your device
Your original photos, multi-page scans and exported PDFs are stored locally. They are not automatically uploaded or synchronized. Camera and photo-library access is requested when you choose those features. Files you export through another app are then subject to that app's handling.
Cloud questions and explanations
After you confirm cloud processing, the selected question text, chosen explanation language, optional cropped question image and follow-up messages are sent to our API. Cloudflare runs our API and database. Alibaba Cloud Model Studio processes questions to generate explanations. The selected crop is processed transiently by our API and is not written to our question bank, cloud history or application logs. The AI provider has its own processing and retention terms; we do not promise that every provider keeps zero data. See Alibaba Cloud's privacy notice.
Accounts, history and purchases
Firebase Authentication provides an account identifier, initially an anonymous session unless you already have a saved account. If you choose Apple or Google sign-in, that provider processes the sign-in and Firebase retains the associated account details. Our database stores your confirmed question text, answers, follow-ups, reports, privacy setting and quota records associated with a pseudonymous account identifier. RevenueCat, Apple and Google process purchase receipts and subscription status; we do not receive your full payment-card details. See Firebase privacy information and RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Question-bank contributions
The first cloud-processing notice explains the contribution setting. When enabled, eligible text questions and generated answers may be added as candidates after checks for personal information. A candidate is not automatically a verified answer for other students. Photos and PDFs are not contributed. You must have permission to contribute a question; do not submit private school records or identifying details. Turn contributions off in Settings → Data and privacy to stop future contributions, or withdraw existing contributions there. Licensed offline datasets are maintained separately with their attribution.
Your controls and retention
You can delete individual history items, withdraw contributions or delete your account in the app. Private history is kept until you delete it or your account. Account deletion removes accessible personal records and disables related contributions; minimal hashed deletion records prevent an old token from recreating deleted data. Provider deletion and limited backup retention may take longer. Store transaction records may be retained by the stores or payment providers for their obligations. Deleting the app alone does not delete cloud history or cancel a subscription. See account deletion instructions.
Students and guardians
Solvegro supports students of different ages. If local law requires a parent or guardian's permission, that permission is required before cloud processing, account sign-in or a purchase. A parent or guardian may contact us to request access or deletion of a child's data. Do not enter a child's name, school identifier or other unnecessary personal information into a question.
Other processing
We do not sell student questions or use advertising trackers in this app or site. Infrastructure providers process connection and security metadata to operate the service. Services may process data in countries different from your own, including the United States and Alibaba Cloud's configured processing region. We use authenticated access and encrypted transport. Contact us to exercise rights available under your local law. Changes to this policy will be published on this page.
